Film archive in Karlovy Vary

My last school project is situated in Karlovy Vary. Its main subject is to find a new function for a neglected concrete chute, which was originally meant to be used by a cable railway (this idea was cancelled at the beginning of the Second World War). The chosen function – film archive - is trying to pay a debt that the city has to the International Film Festival. The building is divided in to two parts – the lower one in the chute is filled with the main archive which is operated by an automated storage system. The upper one contains all the necessary facilities needed to run a movie archive. With this building festival would leave a ineffaceable mark in the city´s face. The jury really hated it, but my diploma supervisor loved it and offered me a job. Happy end!
